10 COMMANDMENTS OF PROPER MASCOTTING
1) Do not speak in costume. Have your
spotter speak for you.
2) The costume is seen either complete
with someone wearing it, or not at all. Never walk around
partially dressed or carrying costume pieces.
3) Have fun, but not at someone else�s
expense.
4) Know when to leave. It is better to
leave with them wanting more, than to overstay your welcome.
5) Make sure you know what your role is.
Make sure you are adding to the event, not taking away from it.
6) Remember, all of your senses (Sight,
sound, touch) are reduced, and you should be in good physical condition.
7) Never try to pick up or hold
children, or fragile objects.
8) Keep your fluids up, always drink
plenty of water before, during, and after each appearance.
9) Use a spotter whenever possible.

inside and outside of the costume. |
